Yemen was famous for making preparing and marketing incense then exporting it and passing it on to generations since ancient times. It was one of the main ways of preparing bukhoor in the countries overlooking the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. The demand for Adani Bakhoor is increasing in the Arab Gulf countries as well as Sudan Eritrea and Ethiopia. The method of making Adeni bukhoor is based on mixing and grinding the following materials which are perfume boiled sugar agarwood water rose oil musk grape oud perfume musk amber tannins sugar and myrrh. These are ground to form a powder. After that these ingredients are cooked on low heat for a period of 20-30 minutes then divided into small pieces and the mixture is transferred to metal or plastic molds under the air covered with tin casing until it turns into a solid substance.
