Abutilon Indicum also known as Indian mallow is a species of flowering plant in the mallow family (Malvaceae). It is native to South and Southeast Asia and is commonly found in India Sri Lanka Bangladesh Pakistan and Indonesia. The plant is a shrub that can grow up to 2 meters in height. Its leaves are simple alternate and ovate or heart-shaped with serrated edges. The flowers are borne singly or in clusters on long stalks and are typically yellow in color although they can also be orange red or pink. The flowers are funnel-shaped with five petals that are fused together at the base to form a tube. The fruit is a round hairy capsule that contains numerous small seeds.
